Fairbanks is one of the best places in the world to shoot the Northern Lights. The aurora index is very high at this time of year and we have timed our trip for a quarter moon – just enough light to see the surroundings, but not so much that it effects the photos. Unlike Norway and Iceland, Fairbanks is an inland location. This means there is a better chance of unobstructed skies at night. Our trip includes hotels, transportation and meals.
Cost: $3800 double occupancy. $3950 single occupancy.
Several people have inquired about this trip and Sedona, Arizona is one of our favorite desert photography locations. Join us for a fall retreat to a spectacular location for landscapes, autumn color and an evening of star photography. Crimson maples and yellow Gambel oak will line the steep sandstone walls of Oak Creek Canyon. Beautiful reflections along streams mirror the sun scrolling down the orange canyon walls. Yucca, ocotillo and prickly pear cactus grow in the vibrant desert, providing terrific macro photography opportunities.
We are very excited about our upcoming Lighting Las Vegas Photo Workshop on March 22-25. Learn to use speed lights and strobes in the city of lights while working with colorful models. We will use evenings to shoot lights on the strip and famous locations like the Bellagio Fountain. There is just one space left. Learn More
Tom and I want to thank each of you for signing up for our newsletter and helping to support our new business: Tom Bol Photo Workshops. There are several new trips on the way for 2018. We hope you have a great time creating photos in 2018 and look forward to seeing your work.
Our Lighting Las Vegas workshop only has three spaces left. We will be using strobes and speed lights to capture the people and locations in Nevada’s City of Lights. This is a perfect trip for photographers who are new to lighting and want to improve their travel portraits.
Tom and I just posted our newest photo workshop to the coast of California and Oregon. We will be shooting redwoods and sea stacks from July 25-29, 2018. We expect this trip to fill up very quickly. We hope you can join us!
Ready to head to Vegas to work on your portrait lighting? Tom and I just posted our next lighting workshop, Lighting Las Vegas. We will be teaching both speed light and strobe usage in one of the flashiest cities in the world. We will work with an Elvis model, cowboys and, of course, dancers from the Las Vegas strip. This is the perfect trip for anyone who owns a speed light….and wants more practice using it.
