Details: Join Tom and Cree as they explore the tundra wildlife near Nome, Alaska during the height of Alaska’s summer. Nome is a small, quirky, coastal village located right on the Bering Sea.  With only plane and boat access, this unique town blends rustic Alaska life with stunning access to tundra and arctic wildlife.   This semi-private workshop bases out of Nome, Alaska.  We are limiting this trip to six participants to ensure comfort and easy access to the birds we photograph.  Three roads leave Nome, each offering incredible access to different environments and bird species.  Each day we will drive in two SUVs with a window seat for each person

Details: Photographing brown bears in Alaska is a bucket list trip for wildlife photographers. Bristol Bay hosts one of the largest salmon runs in the world. The  Sockeye salmon attract bears….and the number of bears are staggering. On this trip we photograph boars, sows and plenty of cubs….often chasing bright red salmon up the streams. We fly into a remote lodge on Lake Iliamna and have access to bush planes each day to transport us to our shooting locations.  Each day we can plan our destination based on where the bears are congregating: Katmai National Park, Brooks Falls, Lake Clark National Park or Bristol Bay.

For the second part of the trip, we will travel to White Sands National Park to photograph stark yucca plants on dazzling white dunes of gypsum sand. Yellow-headed Caracaras and Roadside Hawks are common, and you can practice your panning technique as they fly past your room.
