“I have attended 20 photo workshops hosted by a variety of companies and leaders. Without a doubt, the Iditarod Workshop put on by Tom Bol Photo Workshops has been my favorite. It featured a terrific itinerary that gave us behind-the-scenes insight into the race, the particpants and the dogs. Couple that with the excellent local and photographic knowledge of Tom and Cree Bol and their friendly, enthusiastic style and you have the perfect recipe for a wonderful trip and photographic experience. All this and the Northern Lights—fabulous!” Dave Edwards – 2024 Participant
Details: The Iditarod Sled Dog Race is called the “Last Great Race” in Alaska. Tom and Cree spent 10 years photographing and volunteering at the race when they lived in Alaska. On this workshop you will attend and photograph the Iditarod Musher Gala, the Ceremonial Iditarod start in downtown Anchorage, the Iditarod Restart in Willow, Alaska. We will fly in a small plane to the Iditarod checkpoint of Rainy Pass to photograph sled teams along the route.
