Details: Death Valley is a landscape photographerโs paradise, and a perfect warm weather destination during the winter. A park of extremes, Death Valley has the lowest point, highest recorded temperature and driest conditions in North America. Badwater Basin is 282 feet below sea level. The exquisite warm light, sublime Panamint Mountains and unique sand dunes and geological features offer bountiful photography opportunities.
We will photograph iconic locations including Zabrinski Point, Danteโs View, Artistโs Drive, Golden Canyon and Badwater Basin. Weโll explore the remarkable salt pan polygons in the area, and jagged terrain of Devilโs Golf Course. Mesquite Flat sand dunes offer easy access to acres of dune photography.
Death Valley has some of the darkest night skies we have ever seen, so we have planned our trip dates to coincide with the new moon. We are planning two star photography sessions to capture the Milky Way over iconic Death Valley Formations. We will also spend an afternoon photographing the ghost town of Rhyolite. Our mornings and evenings we will be out photographing, and at midday we will have classes in our conference room. And as it has become tradition, one night we will roast marshmallows over the fire at our hotel.
