Details: If Alaska is on your photography bucket list this workshop is for you. We will be visiting two of the gems of the Kenai Peninsula, Homer and Seward, Alaska. The Kenai Peninsula is known for it’s beautiful green mountains and it’s shoreline teeming with wildlife. While in Seward we will travel by boat into Kenai Fjords National Park to photograph calving glaciers and wildlife like Sea Otters, Humpback Whales, Stellar’s Sealion and more. We cross the peninsula in a comfortable coach stopping to photograph towering peaks with purple lupine in the foreground. In Homer we take to the water again in search of Bald Eagles, Bears and a visit to the quaint town of Seldovia. Both landscape and wildlife photographers will love this workshop!
This tour offers five nights and six days of wildlife and landscape photography in spectacular locations. We will start and end the tour in Anchorage, Alaska.
What you will learn:
- Ocean and land landscape techniques
- How to photograph marine mammals and birds in their natural environment
- Using wildflowers in landscape photography
- Editing in Lightroom and PhotoShop
Lodging:
Our group will be staying right on the water in Seward at the Harbor 360 Hotel. In Homer we will be at the iconic Lands End Resort where you can walk right outside to the beach and photograph snow covered peaks across the harbor. While in Anchorage we stay at the Historic Anchorage Hotel

We will meet for the first time for an evening meeting in Anchorage on Tuesday, July 7 at 6 pm. The workshop ends on June 12 in Anchorage in time for late night flights out of Anchorage.
Recommended camera gear:
- 1-2 camera bodies (back up body recommended)
- Lenses ranging from wide angle 24mm to 70-200mm
- Wildlife telephoto lens – 300mm or more (200-500mm or similar works great)
- Tripod
- Polarizing filter
- Laptop for editing and critique
- Photo Backpack (with extra room)
Included in the fee:
- Lodging in Anchorage for first night
- All transportation from Anchorage to Kenai and back

- All meals while on the tour
Participants will provide their own:
- Hotel accommodation in Anchorage if spending the night on June 12
- Meals while in Anchorage
- Round trip transportation to Anchorage, Alaska
- Alcohol while on tour
- Gratuity for staff and guides while at lodge – recommended $30 per day
Alaska Weather: Occasionally the weather in Alaska will cause travel delays. This time can be used for editing images or photographing the area. This is a regular part of photographing in Alaska and may result in rescheduling flights or hotel stays at the participants’ expense.
Know Before You Go: Rated Moderate. This trip involves walking from 1-3 miles per day in uneven terrain. A wildlife lens is recommended.
