Location: Sedona, Arizona
Dates: Oct 23-27, 2019 Wednesday at 7 pm – Sunday morning after sunrise shoot
Details: Sedona, Arizona is one of our favorite desert photography locations. The setting for many Hollywood movies, Sedona is home to stunning red rock spires, sandstone mesas, and picturesque Oak Creek. While autumn will have passed in much of the US, we have timed our trip to coincide with mild temperatures, sunny weather and vivid color. Beautiful reflections along streams mirror the sun scrolling down the orange canyon walls. Yucca, ocotillo, agave and prickly pear cactus grow in the vibrant desert, providing terrific macro photography opportunities. To round out the trip, we spend a morning in the historic gold mining town of Jerome with opportunities to shoot antique cars, trucks and Americana.
Sedona is a perfect location to explore your creativity in landscape and macro photography, as well as rejuvenate your creativity. We have spent many years photographing the area, and know it well. We will explore all angles of iconic Cathedral Rock, including some lesser know reflection pools, and seek out unique perspectives of classic sandstone spires like Coffee Pot Rock and Bell Rock. The dry desert air, stunning vistas and splash of fall color is bound to spurn your creativity. We also photograph three of Sedona’s famous vortexes, a powerful transformational spot marked by hundreds of stacked stones!
Finally, Sedona is renowned for its soothing spas. We have chosen a beautiful hotel for our stay in case you chose to pamper yourself. Come early or stay a day later to take advantage of Sedona’s world class spas.
